'Yamano Hajime' is the psydonym of Yasuo Hashiguchi, born April 2nd 1961. He studied literature at Rikkyo University. He would debut as a manga artist in 1983 and published various manga and novels focusing on dark themes.
In 1985 he married Chiyomi Hashiguchi and began helping her to produce Nekojiru in 1990. After Chiyomi's suicide in 1998 he would inherit the Nekojiru series and sparsely continues to publish new entries as 'Nekojiru y'.
In 2006 Yamano would remarry and in 2008 he became a father to twin daughters. In 2014 he published the first volume of 'Soseji', a manga about his life as a father. The art style is evocative of Nekojiru.
